These brackets are used when the patient would like to minimize the visibility of the appliance. Clarity or “clear” brackets have the advantage of being less noticeable, but they are also somewhat larger than the metal brackets.
Clarity Brackets are not quite as efficient as the metal brackets, and since they are a crystalline material, they tend to fracture more easily. The mechanics of the clarity bracket are the same as metal bracket. Clarity brackets are usually placed on upper teeth only for enhanced visual effect.
