Orthodontic Issues That Might Arise

If you have a stabbing wire:

Apply wax that was given to you at your initial appointment. Call the office as soon as you can so the wire can be clipped.

If you have a loose wire:

Go ahead and clip it with wire cutters or nail clippers, then alert the office and Dr. Spurrier will place a new wire.

If a bracket comes off the tooth:

Call the office and let us know that you have a loose bracket. We will schedule you for a repair appointment.

If you have a loose metal band (silver ring around the back tooth):

Keep the band in place and call the office and let them know you have a loose or lost metal band and we will schedule accordingly.

In most instances, wax can be applied to the problem area before you come in for your scheduled appointment.
