Meet our Doctors

Dr. Steven Spurrier grew up in the Holladay area. He attended Skyline High School and the University of Utah. He went to Dental School at the University of Maryland, graduating summa cum laude and #1 in his class. He then graduated from the University of Washington with a Masters degree in Orthodontics.

Dr. Spurrier has been published in many national dental journals and has received recognition for excellence in the field of Orthodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Utah Dental Association. And he continues to provide superb Orthodontic treatment and care to his patients in the Salt Lake Intermountain area.

He and his wife Lori have four wonderful children. When he is not in the office, he loves spending time with his family. His hobbies include: anything with the kids, basketball, camping, fishing, four-wheeling and other outdoor recreation.


Dr. Howard S. Spurrier graduated from the University of Utah in 1954 with Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology. He continued his education at the University of Maryland where he graduated summa cum laude, class of 1958, and was awarded the school’s Gold Medal for scholastic excellence. He later went to Boston University where he received his Certificate of Excellence in the Science of Orthodontics.

Prior to settling in Salt Lake City, Dr. Spurrier served a two-year externship in the U.S. Public Heath Service where he was the resident dentist for the Blackfeet Nation in Browning, Montana. He is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and the Utah Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Spurrier and his late wife Carolyn Ann have four children and fourteen grandchildren. Hobbies are an important part of Dr. Spurrier’s life, so time is set aside for fishing (Yellowstone, Green and Slough Creek) wood carving, woodwork, and spending time at the foot of the Teton Mountains whenever possible.

Excellent orthodontic treatment has always been the number one priority in this practice and will continue to be of utmost importance in the ensuing years.
